Hybrid Land Navigation Systems

In order to cover a wide range of applications, three inertial navigation units LLN-GX, LLN-GY, and LLN-G1 with different sensor configurations and associated accuracies are available for selection. All units have been qualified for use in military applications and are in operation in different combat vehicles in many countries.

Typical applications for the LLN family are

  • main battle tank LEOPARD 2 in use in six European countries,
  • NBC FUCHS reconnaissance vehicle,
  • air defense systems ROLAND and AVENGER,
  • FENNEK reconnaissance vehicle,
  • Recovery tank LECLERC,
  • infantry fighting vehicle BMP-3 in U.A.E.
  • New infantry fighting vehicle PUMA

    and many others.

Display Units

The Control Display Unit
LLN-CDU provides the human-machine interface for all three LLN navigators. The unit provides the actual navigation data like position in alphanumerical figures and vehicle heading in a turning compass rose. It further supports the handling of 500 waypoints.

The Driver Display Unit
LLN-DDU
shows the direction and the distance to the waypoint selected by the commander on a semigraphical display.

Stabilisation Systems

1A-RSU, 2A-RSU, 3A-RSU

The Vertical Reference System (VRS) provides a new generation of 1-axes, 2-axis and 3-axis inertial systems for reference and stabilisation applications in combat vehicles. The systems are based on fiber-optic gyros and are available with analogue and digital interfaces.
